You don't need a gym; you need a coach

Most people who set out to become fit and healthy fail before reaching their goal.

Here’s how it typically goes. You realize that you’ve been neglecting your health. Maybe your clothes fit a little snug or your doctor tells you your cholesterol is high. You know that exercise is the answer to your problems, so you do the obvious thing:

You Google “gyms near me.”

And therein lies the problem.

Joining a gym won’t solve your problem; because your problem isn’t a lack of access to gym equipment.

Your problem is that you lack the accountability, guidance, and encouragement to stick to a fitness program long-term.

Millions of people pay for gym memberships, but the vast majority don’t use them. It feels good to join a gym. Just the very act of signing up makes you feel good about yourself. You start fantasizing about the type of person you’ll become after a few months of working out.

But you’re fooling yourself. Following through with the commitment of exercising routinely takes a lot of work. Getting fit means having the discipline to choose going to the gym after a long day of work, when all you really want to do is lay down and watch Netflix. How many times will you win that mental battle?

You don’t even have to take my word for it. Use yourself as an example. Have you ever been highly motivated to join a gym and get in shape, only to quit a few weeks later?

Here’s the thing, though. It’s not solely your fault. You’re just following the conventional advice that you should join a gym if you want to be fit. In other words, you don’t know any better.

An approach that guarantees results

If you try to rely on your own willpower to make a change in your life, you’ll likely fail. Even if you joined a gym, you’re still the same person with the same habits and patterns.

So what’s the solution?

If you’re serious about getting fit, you should do what every athlete, business owner, and high performer does when they want to level up: hire a coach.

A coach keeps you accountable. A coach encourages you when motivation drops. A coach guides you using tested strategies that guarantee success.

Hiring a coach takes away the pressure of having to rely on yourself to stay on track.

You won’t miss the gym when you have an appointment with your coach. You won’t get away with coming up with excuses about why you’re not progressing. You’re going to get the work done, day in and day out. And when you look back at where you started, you won’t believe how far you’ve come.

If you’re looking to get fit, you have two options. You can fool yourself into believing that you’re going to transform yourself into this disciplined, self-motivated monster. Or you can start working with a professional who will help you skyrocket your progress and actually get you results. The choice is yours.
