Looking for a more meaningful approach to fitness in Miami Lakes? Annette Sanchez’s story is a reminder that strength training is about more than appearance — it’s about resilience, longevity, and showing up for the people who matter most.

At 40 years old, Annette Sanchez wears many hats. She’s a mother of three, a wife, an attorney, a business owner, and an active member of the Miami Lakes community. Between running a successful family and property law firm, participating in local networking circles, and raising her family, life rarely slows down.
But behind her busy schedule is a commitment she’s maintained for years: taking care of her health through consistent strength training.
For the past seven years, Annette has trained with Julian Arana at B-Fit Training Studios. What started as a fitness routine eventually became something much deeper — a mindset built around strength, longevity, and resilience.
More Than Just Looking Good
For Annette, fitness was never just about aesthetics.
“Strength training is all about mindset,” she explains. “It’s about being the best mom and wife I can be for my family.”
Over time, training became something she genuinely relied on mentally and emotionally.
“Training is my therapy,” she says.
With guidance from Coach Julian (who is certified to work with pregnant and postpartum women) Annette approached fitness thoughtfully and intentionally. Together, they focused not only on workouts, but on education and long-term health.
“We connected at an intellectual level about fitness and longevity,” Annette says. “I wanted to understand why strength training matters.”
One of the biggest lessons she learned? You do not need an extreme schedule to create meaningful results.
Annette trains just twice per week while remaining mindful of her nutrition and recovery throughout the week.
The Moment That Changed Everything
During the height of COVID-19, Annette experienced one of the most difficult moments of her life while giving birth to her second child.
Because of strict hospital distancing rules, the experience felt incredibly isolating. Much of the labor happened with minimal physical support. Nurses often communicated from a distance, comfort was limited, and for long stretches, it felt like she was carrying the weight of the moment almost entirely on her own.
The delivery became not only physically exhausting, but mentally and emotionally overwhelming as well.
Looking back, Annette believes her years of strength training helped carry her through the experience.
“It took physical and mental strength,” she says. “You never know when you’re going to need to be strong.”
That moment completely changed how she viewed fitness.
Strength was no longer just about exercise. It became about preparedness. About resilience. About having the ability to endure difficult moments when life becomes unpredictable.
Why Strength Training Matters for Women
Research continues to show that women who maintain moderate exercise and strength training routines may experience benefits such as:
Improved bone density and reduced risk of osteoporosis
Better joint support and long-term mobility
Improved posture and balance
Faster postpartum recovery
Reduced stress and anxiety
Increased energy and mental resilience
Studies have also suggested that physically active women may experience smoother pregnancies and improved recovery after delivery when medically cleared to exercise.
For Annette, those benefits became deeply personal. She believes the confidence built inside the gym translated directly into confidence outside of it.
“Pushing through difficult workouts and seeing your capabilities improve builds mental fortitude,” she explains.
Strength Through Setbacks
Not every chapter of Annette’s journey was easy.
During her third pregnancy with her son Elisiah, complications forced her into nine months of bed rest. Unlike her previous pregnancies, she was not medically cleared to continue working out.
The experience was physically and emotionally difficult.
“It created anxiety. I felt weaker. I dealt with pain and discomfort,” she recalls.
But after giving birth, Annette slowly rebuilt her strength again.
Step by step, she returned to training and eventually regained both her strength and her pre-pregnancy fitness level.
Her story is a reminder that consistency is not about perfection. Sometimes strength means adapting, recovering, and continuing forward even after setbacks.
